I just watched this scene almost 10 times, trying to look at it from a casual viewers point of view and
the way Dean shifts to close his legs a bit and covers his crotch with his hands instinctively, to which I have to say I did the same thing when Cas came out (because he is so fucking sexy) and I’m a woman.
then Cas looks DIRECTLY AT DEAN with hands down and palms forward, very vulnerable and questioning, to ask “Better?”. I don’t know about you but when I seek approval it’s from the people I care about most. And I’m not saying Cas doesn’t care what Sam thinks but in the moment he was seeking approval from Dean.
then Dean looks Cas UP AND DOWN before remembering Sam is there, looking to him and then looking back to Cas, giving a slight smile and nod. With lips parted no less. Not saying a word.
If it was just a friend giving another friend the ‘good to go’, it would of just been something of a simple “yeah man, good” or what not. And would also be way less awkward.
I TRIED SO HARD BUT I CANNOT UN-GAY THIS SCENE AND WE DON’T EVEN HAVE SAM’S NOD OF APPROVAL AND THEN HIS LOOK TO DEAN OF “HAY YOUR BF IS LOOKING GOOD YES?” AND I JUST REALLY NEED THEM TO SHOW DEAN AND CAS WALKING OUT OF THE BATHROOM TOGETHER OR LEAVING THE SAME MOTEL ROOM AND THEN KNOCKING ON SAMS DOOR BEFORE THEY LEAVE TO GO ON THE NEXT HUNT TOGETHER BECAUSE I MEAN REALLY JUST LOOK AT THEM

Dean feels his stomach lurch as he turns around and, no, it’s not Cas. Not anymore.
Dean hates himself for the way his hands shake. He stop and takes a deep breath, wishing it would work like breathing in courage, because at that moment he feels remarkably like a coward.
“Guess again, Dean.” he says, same gravelly voice, like he’s been gargling asphalt since he was born, but there’s a bite to it. Venom. There’s poison in his words and it hurts him.
Cas scoffs and gestures vaguely towards Bobby unmoving body, and he’s grinning like a fucking psychopath. “Shame about he old man, huh?” He turn towards Dean and laughs, loud and full and it’s frightening, so, so terrifying and Dean doesn’t know if he can handle it.
Dean’s back is against the wall before he even realizes he’s moving, and Cas is coming right after him, black goop dripping from his ears and nose and he’s crackingjesusmotherfuckingchrist-
“What the fuck- what happened to Cas?”
Cas lets out a bitter laugh and pushed Dean down the wall, pressing his fingers too tight into his jawline, talking too loudly, and Dean can’t stop it, can’t stop the tears that start to trickle down his cheeks.
“Sorry, guy,” Cas all but yells, “Your angel isn’t home anymore.”
